Doing the darshan of Badrivishalis considered being doing a great deed according to the Hindu culture. Badrinath yatra is one of the toughest yatra of India, because this temple of Lord shiva is present at a great height.

Badrinath yatra 2023 will begin in the month of May, as the doors of temple will open on 8th may and will close 20th November. This yatra can be done only for 6 months in a year because of the heavy amount of snowfall occurring during another 6 months.

It is believed that this place was the residence of lord Shiva at some time, but after sometime lord Vishnu asked lord shiva to give him this place and he gave him the place very happily. This is the reason why you have to first go to shiv temple before starting the yatra. On the way to Badrinath Dham, you can do darshan at a lot of other temples also.

According to the Hindu rituals, without doing darshan at Badrinath the Chardham yatra is considered to be incomplete.

In the past days, this yatra was considered to be very difficult but now due to the building of new and good quality roads this yatra has become more comfortable. Almost all the devotees prefer to go on foot to the mandir but some also go by sitting on a “doli” or by sitting on the back of the horse.

Not only for the devotees but also for the nature lovers this place is a blessing, because it is placed in the laps of the snow covered mountains and a lot of greenery can be seen here during these six months. You will find a lot of crystal clear rivers on your way to Badrinath, which adds to it’s beauty.
