Following discussions with representatives of the Public Works Department and Border Roads Organization (BRO), it has been decided to maintain the current traffic pattern on behalf of the police administration.
The Chardham Yatra is starting from the month of April. During this, the movement of travel vehicles in Joshimath will be done as before. Under the traffic plan by the police administration, the travel vehicles will be sent from Marwari Chowk to Badrinath Temple via Narsingh Temple, while vehicles will be evacuated from the petrol pump via the main market. Local traffic will also need to follow this traffic plan.

On the other hand, due to the landslide happening in Joshimath, the Badrinath Highway has also reached in a tight condition due to cracks in many places.Due to the Mount View and Malari Inn Hotel's demolition in Singhdhar, the highway's state has remained hazardous.

An alternate route for the transit of Yatra vehicles was being looked for in light of the impending Chardham Yatra crisis.

Following discussions with representatives of the Public Works Department and Border Roads Organization (BRO), it has been decided to maintain the current traffic pattern on behalf of the police administration.  Peepalkoti, BRO Commanding Officer, Major Aina said that before the commencement of the Chardham Yatra, the asphalting work of the highway from Malari Inn and Mount View Hotel to Badrinath Stand in Joshimath Nagar would be done.

Highway improvement work will start

The upgrading work on the highway will begin as soon as the demolition of the hotels is finished.
Before the yatra begins, the highway's repairs from the Petrol Pump to JP Colony and Marwari Bridge will be finished. Lonivi of Gopeshwar, Chamoli, Provincial Block, EE, Surendra Patwal said that the improvement work of the highway will be done from Repair work is being done wherever landslides have damaged the route.

The highway's pavement is damaged in two spots, and those areas will be asphalted before travel can begin.
